Here are a few more from my friend Jon DeShazo at the University of Washington Biomedical and Health Informatics. These mobile minigames target the same nutrition estimation and food comparison skills as the larger games in a more portable format. The three minigames are Hangman, Quiz Show, and Countdown.Hangman is the classic guessing game with a nutritional twist. You have six guesses before your stickman gets the noose. This game can be played in carbohydrate or calorie mode. On 'easy' difficulty, your guess has to come within 15% of the actual value. On hard difficulty, your guess has to come within 5% of the actual value.Quiz Show is a question-and-answer format video game with a game show feel. You choose the best answer from four multiple choice answers given. If you need help, there are three lifelines available to you during each game: "Ask a nurse", "Search the internet", and "Read the label". You can only use each lifeline once per game. This game can be played in carbohydrate or calorie mode. On 'easy' difficulty, the incorrect multiple choice answers are farther from the correct values.Countdown is food comparison game where timing is everything! You have to choose the food that is lower in the the nutritional category selected. The quicker you answer, the more points you get for the correct answer. This game can be played in carbohydrate , calorie, or energy density mode. On 'hard' difficulty, the food choices are very similar to each other, nutritionally. They are doing Diabetes Mobile Phone Games Testing, which means if you play, you receive a $10 Amazon.com gift certificate for trying the games and completing a brief 11-item questionnaire about your feelings towards the games.http://students.washington.edu/deshazo/mobile_test.htmlCheck out the site and contact them for an anonymous Test ID to install the game.
